McDonald's Is Launching a New Restaurant Brand Next Year

McDonald's lovers rejoice! The fast-food chain is planning a new outlet. These new restaurants will be inspired by a decades-old extraterrestrial mascot

CNBC stated that CosMc, a six-armed McDonald's alien character from the 1980s and 1990s, inspired the new idea. McDonald's CEO Chris

Kempczinski told investors on an earnings call yesterday that CosMc's will be a "small format concept with all the DNA of McDonald's but its

own unique personality."Kempczinski noted that the company aims to test the new restaurant brand "in a small handful of sites in a limited geography

Customers must await CosMc's specifics. Kempczinski said McDonald's December investors day will provide more information.

McDonald's expansion and innovation goals include CosMc's. The viral Grimace Shake promotion, significant visitor visitation, and pricing hikes

helped the company outperform profitability and sales estimates in the second quarter of 2023. Kempczinski said on Thursday's results call that

McDonald's continuing customer appeal "has earned us the right to begin accelerating the pace of restaurant openings in our major markets over the next several years."

He didn't say how many and where McDonald's would open in the following years. However, he said that the company saw great potential

for expansion in the South and Southeast, where restaurant growth has lagged behind population growth.
